<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well, Fall is officially upon us! My most favorite season. It's time for jeans with boots and comfy sweaters. I have been seeing some really cute boot cuffs floating around Pinterest lately. I jumped on the tall boot with jeans bandwagon last Fall but haven't yet accessorized them properly. After looking at all the amazing options I decided I NEEDED some lace boot cuffs. My poor poor husband! I hauled him and our son to THREE fabric stores on my quest to acquire stretchy wide lace. Do you know how hard it is to find wide stretchy lace in the rural Midwest? People let me just say it is hard. I struck out all 3 times. So, I gave up and was just going to have to look online. Well, our last stop of the day was Wal-Mart. I decided to look and see if they had any boot cuffs. They only had short boot socks. Sigh. Can a girl catch a break? Well the boot cuffs happen to be with the ladies under things and I happened to walk by an end cap when I had a crazy idea. You just never know when or where inspiration is going to strike. Here is what the end cap was full of; </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYwiYVLz2bnmR0UkvZ4mrSxwqy6c9cQ_isq3YclfvT3NRbofZssKTSV0mGKKg8AjdjWH1a8RPxgU-LF_26SQyt4qOOKFuZNM4b_Be3W8IhhScqtyt3j9FQD5MKytUQOzlWLEeTmVfv7p4/s1600/Boot+cuffs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYwiYVLz2bnmR0UkvZ4mrSxwqy6c9cQ_isq3YclfvT3NRbofZssKTSV0mGKKg8AjdjWH1a8RPxgU-LF_26SQyt4qOOKFuZNM4b_Be3W8IhhScqtyt3j9FQD5MKytUQOzlWLEeTmVfv7p4/s320/Boot+cuffs.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Stretch lace in a manner of speaking. So, I called my husband over and said, "I have a crazy idea!" His response as usual was, "Oh no!" This is because I have so many. I told him I had found my wide stretchy lace and wanted to experiment. Being the ever so supporting loving husband he gave his stamp of approval (not without laughing a lot first) and into the cart they went. I also told him, "If this works I am coming back and buying one of every color!!" There is no doubt in his mind that I will follow through. So, here is how to make your very own pair of lace boot cuffs out of "Cheeky" Lingerie. Buy the largest pair so you have more material to work with.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid95YhUTaAAzpjHr2AIo2tglEc8KofbNDJ0Ps-NgRZBWq6jdif55DL5IvNV4QIFFZL93WxOfDsIekLbOdq5Yk6zMBkHicSkg5inqMHb13uc5OWt7GJ9aDleC3pIQ4943UchX5OSFbCrBU/s1600/036.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid95YhUTaAAzpjHr2AIo2tglEc8KofbNDJ0Ps-NgRZBWq6jdif55DL5IvNV4QIFFZL93WxOfDsIekLbOdq5Yk6zMBkHicSkg5inqMHb13uc5OWt7GJ9aDleC3pIQ4943UchX5OSFbCrBU/s320/036.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1. Cut along the seam on both front and back. Don't forget to cut out the finished seam. This gives you 2 boot cuffs. (The above photo is what they look like after being cut.)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzlu-uXQEkjT1Gzm6pdMsoU9WdhUxoRJnMYKF3Rgm7zvpMfG-ox2HkaFev8Uo-jFGhWPSaPh03l9Ce5ZnNn_CWu9YboQyegq9mHFF7gYxEVMs-iz0zeaHniTBeD-rDo7fAPCYyoRYGzOY/s1600/039.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzlu-uXQEkjT1Gzm6pdMsoU9WdhUxoRJnMYKF3Rgm7zvpMfG-ox2HkaFev8Uo-jFGhWPSaPh03l9Ce5ZnNn_CWu9YboQyegq9mHFF7gYxEVMs-iz0zeaHniTBeD-rDo7fAPCYyoRYGzOY/s320/039.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2. Fold in half and pin. Sew a straight line and then sew a zig zag stitch over it for reinforcement. Turn right side out and rock those new boot cuffs!! If you want you can add buttons or bows or flowers or whatever you want. Color options are endless.</div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I whipped up this quick, simple, and very yummy chocolate trifle. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Chocolate Trifle:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1 13x9 chocolate cake (I didn't have a cake mix so, I used a recipe out of my Betty Crocker Cook Book)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2 boxes of chocolate instant pudding</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1 tub of cool whip</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Start with the cake as the base (crumble it). Then, add a layer of pudding. Last, a layer of cool whip. Repeat until you reach the top.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I made mine sugar free for the guys at church that are diabetic. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For supper we treated Daddy to one of his very favorite seafood dishes. I saw the original recipe on Rachael Ray but, I don't remember it so this is my concoction. I call it Shrimp Pasta. So original, I know.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Shrimp Pasta:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Shrimp medium or large in size</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1 lemon or some lemon juice also works</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
4 Tbsp butter</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
onion</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
garlic</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
black pepper</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
cilantro or basil</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Melt your butter in the saucepan. Add your chopped onion (just a little amount to taste), garlic (to taste), and lemon. Then, add your shrimp, black pepper, and cilantro or basil. Cook thoroughly. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
While this is cooking boil some pasta and drain.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Add the pasta to the shrimp mixture and toss it all together to coat the pasta. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU85qBy0aogJ7cJRXBWWiUX_uhlETbNarcFnuMCRJgWNxtBdAnB8RmX31JKoc6b5Fii9kucuSNlrp_jw7DM7NWmMs6cy2Ya3OEEk3cHIkUgf03CuzqolGmAr0J1wYwN-3yYPDtI0dFdnc/s1600/img_1293.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU85qBy0aogJ7cJRXBWWiUX_uhlETbNarcFnuMCRJgWNxtBdAnB8RmX31JKoc6b5Fii9kucuSNlrp_jw7DM7NWmMs6cy2Ya3OEEk3cHIkUgf03CuzqolGmAr0J1wYwN-3yYPDtI0dFdnc/s320/img_1293.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Serve and enjoy. The pasta is covered in this rich, buttery, lemony sauce. It melts in your mouth.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My husband says that it's very true at least for him that the way to his heart is through his stomach. I hope all the dads out there had a great Father's Day and got to enjoy some of their favorite dishes too.</div>

My son is an absolute fruit snack fanatic. I think he would live on them if I would let him! I'm a really big make from scratch kind of girl. I like to know what's in our food. So, when I came across this on pinterest I thought it would be fun to do with the lil guy and it was!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I got the recipe from <a href="http://www.mommysavers.com/c/t/164335/dollar-store-crafts-homemade-fruit-snacks-from-100-juice">here</a>. There's also a juice version but, I had Jell-o to spare.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg99Yyx82gOrqixbONkKTW0YJRQUHhQ0W3JBFBaqE2TWWMdyas1V_HC39GFRfVWrniy-LUU0t2h3ICumR_ocLhJw4MggiIpdPVww5gYbClz_y5NRviI5h2CkiSN4rzleI-qOo7-I4H_mus/s1600/img_1261.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg99Yyx82gOrqixbONkKTW0YJRQUHhQ0W3JBFBaqE2TWWMdyas1V_HC39GFRfVWrniy-LUU0t2h3ICumR_ocLhJw4MggiIpdPVww5gYbClz_y5NRviI5h2CkiSN4rzleI-qOo7-I4H_mus/s400/img_1261.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's what they look like all ready to eat!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjomNqNOfoeYeYMYl9nIHeMfLMejgUJ6CIu4QSQnLSsLMmdV_dxhU9_jZ92IJH15wQiCJPcchxDfVvMMkpGTF0lc0lBtk3y5ILl16sKxPphmkuOCeh-AmZzXYAnuds8Qa2ykJ6S_cVLWr8/s1600/img_1260.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjomNqNOfoeYeYMYl9nIHeMfLMejgUJ6CIu4QSQnLSsLMmdV_dxhU9_jZ92IJH15wQiCJPcchxDfVvMMkpGTF0lc0lBtk3y5ILl16sKxPphmkuOCeh-AmZzXYAnuds8Qa2ykJ6S_cVLWr8/s400/img_1260.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Setting up in the mold. Before I removed them I brushed a little cornstarch on the backs with a brush. It really helps them not stick together.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I just used a 3 oz box of mixed berry jell-o</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2 envelopes of Knox gelatin (unflavored)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1/3 cup water</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Put it all in a saucepan over med heat until all the jello dissolves. Poured it into the mold and popped it into the fridge. They were ready in about 30 minutes. I bought the candy mold at Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon. This recipe fits this mold perfectly and makes 64 fruit snacks. They are really soft and I store them in an air tight container in my fridge. They don't have a long shelf life but we have no problem with that around here!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Tip: Immediately fill your saucepan with hot water after pouring the jello into the molds. If you don't it will stick pretty good to your pan.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I like this because it's fast, easy, and inexpensive. I bought the jell-o on sale + used a coupon= super cheap jello. They are also fun to make and lil man likes taking them out of the mold and popping them into his mouth!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I wanted to do something fun and different for the men at church for Father's Day. Every year they give us flowers. I wanted to do a boutonniere but not with flowers. They all have a sweet tooth so I googled candy boutonnieres. I found lots of pictures of the finished product but no tutorials. I definitely couldn't afford the $20 price tag per boutonniere so, I decided to come up with my own way to make them and then share the tutorial with all of you. Each boutonniere costs $1 or less so it's really affordable and easy to make.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
3. Twist the bag really tight

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
4. Secure the tight twist by wrapping a piece of scotch tape securely around it
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7dkfnwTz9tPhTYYVTb3jc2KgsCxvfFrTsMI99uI4BAVMppLe5jLnBa-g58_lm6qvWIWCijpRhXaEpvrxjj5YyRpABdWpUxHp0mTOnQIT-zzKGgobQBRdn5IRuNAhm6vEmplr8tJPN8KI/s1600/img_1271.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7dkfnwTz9tPhTYYVTb3jc2KgsCxvfFrTsMI99uI4BAVMppLe5jLnBa-g58_lm6qvWIWCijpRhXaEpvrxjj5YyRpABdWpUxHp0mTOnQIT-zzKGgobQBRdn5IRuNAhm6vEmplr8tJPN8KI/s400/img_1271.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
5. Take the floral stem and gently push it through the base of the "flower." Be careful not to puncture the bag out the other side. It's easy to do. Get the stem as far to the top of the bag as you can. It keeps the "flower" from falling over.
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNoEhudFbcNdunKuNuH-TR9NVIxjVlmzNkT9abzsISkkgsRUpYWgrnzqNd8uqO2M1EiFHKFzIW6H2owcgQutMM6cChNg3C0x43tcO9HtflK7fc1NVhvSZZc598YLBXNgA-pN1qlR926Gg/s1600/img_1272.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNoEhudFbcNdunKuNuH-TR9NVIxjVlmzNkT9abzsISkkgsRUpYWgrnzqNd8uqO2M1EiFHKFzIW6H2owcgQutMM6cChNg3C0x43tcO9HtflK7fc1NVhvSZZc598YLBXNgA-pN1qlR926Gg/s400/img_1272.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
6. Secure the "flower" to the stem with a small piece of floral tape and trim off the excess sandwich bag where the floral tape ends. If you've never used floral tape before the trick is to stretch it tight as you wrap. That is what makes it stick.
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixAc0ayd_0oV-QLJRQW6LFj-AXidfJdfQayQte_GuGvVMeCfFd2F76_leipl0RT8QaxRhOoqwq6djlP_yZukV6rP3qlil-MGgasC2Sutw5X2UsDWKzwdLJoFzXtyIHimmFHd2bfBw3P0M/s1600/img_1273.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixAc0ayd_0oV-QLJRQW6LFj-AXidfJdfQayQte_GuGvVMeCfFd2F76_leipl0RT8QaxRhOoqwq6djlP_yZukV6rP3qlil-MGgasC2Sutw5X2UsDWKzwdLJoFzXtyIHimmFHd2bfBw3P0M/s400/img_1273.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
7. Cut between the leaves to open the closed circle. This will make it easier to wrap around the base to secure to the "flower."
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMj1N_svRzpECXtYM1JDhspIS30sdIoqxhlVVphfQP5cUheY90V9-6a9S8ekZZitKEtHpw5miI6gXyWbJ7Oty1atkrhTUZN3ULAALRxqQYdyXbjCHXROW8tMfWDImE_aPrmMahulGsrDI/s1600/img_1275.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMj1N_svRzpECXtYM1JDhspIS30sdIoqxhlVVphfQP5cUheY90V9-6a9S8ekZZitKEtHpw5miI6gXyWbJ7Oty1atkrhTUZN3ULAALRxqQYdyXbjCHXROW8tMfWDImE_aPrmMahulGsrDI/s400/img_1275.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
8. Wrap the leaves around the base under the "flower" and secure with a piece of Scotch tape
</div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
9. Take the baby's breath and slide it up the stem. Position it at a height you like it and secure with floral tape. Cut the stem with wire cutters at the desired length and wrap the rest of the stem including the end with floral tape.
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I am trying to get back on track so, please be patient with me. Last week was the first time in a long time that I actually did some deal shopping. The reason being was I had a great stockpile and I was trying to use it instead of going out and buying more stuff that I didn't need. That's the thing about couponing; you have to know when enough is enough. You also have to have room to store this stuff. Plus, you need to be able to use it up before it expires. So, I was down to 1 lonely tube of toothpaste in my stockpile 3 weeks ago. Time to hunt down some deals. I've also noticed that couponing in the Winter is not as great as it is right now. It seems like all the good coupons hibernate until the warm weather comes back around. Here are some of the deals I found this week;<br />
<br />
<span style="color: red;">CVS:</span><br />
Transaction 1:<br />
Crest Prohealth Toothpaste $4.79 get $3.00 ECB back. Limit 2 and I bought 2<br />
M&Ms $0.75 get $0.75 ECB back. Limit 1<br />
Used $4.00 ECBs from previous trip<br />
Total: $8.31 Received: $6.75 ECBs Saved: $4.00<br />
<br />
Transaction 2:<br />
Physician's Formula Moisturizer $14.49 get $15.00 ECB back (makes this $0.51 moneymaker)<br />
Used the $6.75 ECBs from transaction 1<br />
Total: $8.67 Received: $15.00 ECBs Saved: $7.00<br />
<br />
I spent a total of: $16.98 and left the store with $15 ECBs So, I really only spent $1.98<br />
<br />
This deal was tricky. The ad was very vague. It stated receive $15 ECBs when you buy ANY Physician's Formula Skin Care Item. It only excluded clearance items. None of the Physician's Formula items were tagged as this deal. The cashier had to manually give me the ECBs. So very grateful for a nice cashier!!<br />
<br />
The reasons I bought the moisturizer were;<br />
1. It's a free item and I needed moisturizer (especially with SPF 50. If you knew me you'd understand.)<br />
2. I checked the site; www.iheartcvs.com for next weeks flyer and there is a great diaper deal<br />
<br />
This next week CVS will have Pampers 2/$19. There are currently $1.50 manufacturer's coupons available on www.coupons.com. You can print 2. This would make the diapers 2/$16. So, then I'll use my $15 ECBs from this week and I'll only pay $1 plus tax out of my own pocket! It's a great way to stretch your money and buy the things that you really need for your family.<br />
<br />
<span style="color: red;">Wal-Mart:</span><br />
Sun Drop Soda 2 liter $1.00 - $1.00 MC (expires 6/3)<br />
I bought 2 (2 liters) for $0.18<br />
<br />
<span style="color: red;">Walgreens:</span><br />
Transaction 1:<br />
Tecnu First Aid Gel $7.00 get $7.00 RR back<br />
Total: $7.07 Received: $7.00 RR Saved: $2.99<br />
<br />
Transaction 2:<br />
Tone Bodywash Buy 1 at $4.79 Get 1 Free ( I bought 4)<br />
I had 2 $1.00 MC plus I used the $7 RR<br />
Total: $1.42 Saved: $18.58<br />
<br />
I spent a total of $8.49<br />
<br />
So, these are some of the deals I took advantage of. I hope you found some great deals too! I'd love to hear about them.<br />

It is also the room I have liked the least in this house. It is our catch all. Anything that needs to be taken outside or find a home ends up in here somewhere. Since we bought our house in 2006 we have made some major changes. The way I see it is if I have to spend time in there I might as well like it. So, here are some before and after pics and our most recent upgrade.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNQ_nghe-GaJXnyM4bN3PehDHRinDqMtTa_nm7fh_si3MkQjxamt1Igg0vDEzq6jdSwE33lQG5AtYgufQzZBC8022FlBosPs2-K9AS5ZachB_s5PTh1uPIRUub9H_ifVlWElRS4NhjeTM/s1600/100_1177.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNQ_nghe-GaJXnyM4bN3PehDHRinDqMtTa_nm7fh_si3MkQjxamt1Igg0vDEzq6jdSwE33lQG5AtYgufQzZBC8022FlBosPs2-K9AS5ZachB_s5PTh1uPIRUub9H_ifVlWElRS4NhjeTM/s400/100_1177.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This is what it looked like when we bought it. The time stamp is wrong on the pic. Isn't it UGLY!? The curtains came with the house, lucky me! Those were the first to go.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Lil man had to be in the pic of course. We painted and added a border and a ceiling fan. It made the room so much brighter.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJipRo7gWuVgL9Jjxdh65NuxZgw9q4aEO51iMVZIwpg4RT4BDbyIQ29zXqCM7nGR4SELPGdG04qVhYrGr-FP7YBwyKNtV38zV5hugmIecWeuQ3BRvaFW1FwzPIp6Ps80tphYpuAZNxDPo/s1600/img_1033.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJipRo7gWuVgL9Jjxdh65NuxZgw9q4aEO51iMVZIwpg4RT4BDbyIQ29zXqCM7nGR4SELPGdG04qVhYrGr-FP7YBwyKNtV38zV5hugmIecWeuQ3BRvaFW1FwzPIp6Ps80tphYpuAZNxDPo/s400/img_1033.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> We uncovered a window and added tons of shelving. This house had no storage at all. When you live in a 1100 sq ft, 2 BR house you need all the storage you can get. I have been saving diaper and wipe boxes for storage and they will soon be getting a makeovers courtesy of pinterest. We still want to replace the vinyl flooring. Also, my handy husband is going to build me risers for my washer and dryer so, I can get rid of the sorting hamper and have more room. The cabinet by lil man is our pantry and it will be torn out and that whole corner will be turned into lockers. This room has really come a LONG way and there are just a few projects left to make it my dream utility room.</div><br />

I don't want any wasted space. This is just our catch all for now. This is the best it's looked in a long time.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Bless his heart he used his Christmas money to help a girl out. Secretly, I think he was just tired of hearing me complain about it. The project cost a total of $60. It was so worth it! You can see the floor!</div><br />

I'm going to get some cute lil plastic containers to group some of the items together and of course label them. What you can't see in the pic is that there actually is still an empty shelf on top. I'm going to store paper towels up there. I know we should go paperless but, they are one thing I haven't been able to sacrifice.</div><br />

I am a pinterest JUNKIE! There are some amazing things to be found there. If you'd like to see what I'm pinning you can click on the red button to the top left of the page.<br />
<br />
I have been looking for even more ways to save our family money. One thing that everyone does (or I sure hope does) is wash their hands.<br />
<br />
Hand soap refills cost about $4.00 and that gets you a half gallon of store brand soap. Name brand is even more expensive. I have really progressed in the hand soap area. Originally, I bought the individual soap dispensers each time I ran out of soap. I wish I could go back and smack my young self for wasting so much money!<br />
<br />
Then, I get a little smarter and started to buy the refill and fill up the individual soap dispensers. About a year ago I came across this tutorial; <a href="http://www.infarrantlycreative.net/2010/03/homemade-foaming-hand-soap.html">http://www.infarrantlycreative.net/2010/03/homemade-foaming-hand-soap.html</a> on how to make foaming hand soap from regular hand soap. Genius!! I had received foam soaps from bath and body works so when they ran out I added some of my refill soap to the bottom and then filled it the rest of the way with water. Shake it up and you are ready to roll.<br />
<br />
Now, thanks to pinterest I have taken the next step in saving the <u>MOST</u> money on hand soap! I found a tutorial here; <a href="http://www.creativecaincabin.com/2011/03/diy-liquid-soap.html">http://www.creativecaincabin.com/2011/03/diy-liquid-soap.html</a> that makes 2 gallons of liquid hand soap for $1!!!!!! I checked out the tutorial to make sure it was something I could do easily. Remember your time is valuable too. This turned out to be the easiest thing ever to make. Plus, I am still going to use it to make foam soap so it will last even longer.<br />
<br />
Homemade Hand Soap This will yield 3/4 gallon of soap<br />
Supplies Needed:<br />
~ Big Stockpot or Pot (I bought a really cheap one from Walmart because I didn't want to use one I cook food in)<br />
~ Whisk<br />
~ Cheese Grater<br />
~ 1 bar of Ivory soap<br />
~ 4 cups Water<br />
~ 8 cups Water<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXenA1DpvYyILd_MdW9GTsCoLY9xtj6DDGOALTpYawxsSbXN5CqDGG-VaPKd6p1vsk5oT2qxta5LmoQYVfu420wyn01PeC610dADihSGXM3rBf-Cu6jb-sMby2WmsOkBg-4JeRpKpLpb0/s1600/img_1018.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXenA1DpvYyILd_MdW9GTsCoLY9xtj6DDGOALTpYawxsSbXN5CqDGG-VaPKd6p1vsk5oT2qxta5LmoQYVfu420wyn01PeC610dADihSGXM3rBf-Cu6jb-sMby2WmsOkBg-4JeRpKpLpb0/s320/img_1018.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP94gnbh8c6yTC3cj9Y5SVkfQv7ismM2qDVvm4t6LGCxPI4pax25BCmbfIwjZkHzt423YfiaQmTkRRIzVq3KxLsGaib0ml0Wz1jqnIqFcGBCP4e5-HE5lLBpT1Wk3SPSramKSgqsz4Hfg/s1600/img_1020.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP94gnbh8c6yTC3cj9Y5SVkfQv7ismM2qDVvm4t6LGCxPI4pax25BCmbfIwjZkHzt423YfiaQmTkRRIzVq3KxLsGaib0ml0Wz1jqnIqFcGBCP4e5-HE5lLBpT1Wk3SPSramKSgqsz4Hfg/s320/img_1020.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicw0V8Yvz97X-P1gAkuRDucAcJ58SvyFATkaQXHSsnsEbthfEneFDKkc9eeT4brJoHELjyWl1yDdcGR2VzC6XIrwIE4s8tl3q6CKniwPDUzdQskxK-X5X2mnF-unqbA7p4RJwTHXvOM28/s1600/img_1021.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicw0V8Yvz97X-P1gAkuRDucAcJ58SvyFATkaQXHSsnsEbthfEneFDKkc9eeT4brJoHELjyWl1yDdcGR2VzC6XIrwIE4s8tl3q6CKniwPDUzdQskxK-X5X2mnF-unqbA7p4RJwTHXvOM28/s320/img_1021.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
Pour 4 cups of water into the pot. Grate your Ivory and add it to the water. Turn the heat to high. Whisk until all soap is melted. Let cool completely. Then, add 8 cups water. Reheat and whisk until all melted again. Let cool completely and pour into storage containers.<br />
<br />
That's it! I didn't do the full recipe because I don't have a big enough pot to hold 36 cups of water!<br />
<br />
Total Cost was $0.33 for 3/4 gallon of soap vs $4.00 for 1/2 gallon of generic brand of hand soap.Tabithahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02663027758446059124noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8615455940955784327.post-67567040765272879492012-01-02T15:58:00.000-06:002012-01-02T15:58:52.972-06:001st Shopping Trip of 2012<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">It's 2012! There are 2 reasons for this;<br />
<br />
1. The paper towels were junk. I should have used Bounty or Viva. They just fell apart when I pulled them out of the container and were not strong enough to clean a dirty bum. It just made a bigger mess.<br />
<br />
2. I made them on the 25th of October and they molded on the 1st of November. That only gives you a one week window of use. We don't use wipes that fast so, this is not cost effective for us at all.<br />
<br />
It's a great idea but if you don't use tons of wipes it really isn't worth it. I didn't even use half of the wipes. So, for now we will stick to our Up and Up Hypoallergenic wipes from Target.Tabithahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02663027758446059124noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8615455940955784327.post-72059118265097966462011-10-25T16:49:00.000-05:002011-10-25T16:52:14.297-05:00Homemade Baby WipesI just made something off of my "To Try" list. They are homemade baby wipes made with just TWO ingredients; water and coconut oil. It was ridiculously easy and took all of 5 minutes. Now, we have to test them on lil man's bum. He has really sensitive skin. If these work I will totally kick myself for not making them sooner! If they don't work for him then I can use them for removing my makeup. It's a win/win situation! Don't you just love it when you can use a product for more than one thing? It makes my life even simpler and there's less to buy. If you would like to make your own click <a href="http://www.whitehouseblackshutters.com/2010/03/homemade-organic-baby-wipes.html">Here</a> for the tutorial. I'll keep you posted on how well they work.Tabithahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02663027758446059124noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8615455940955784327.post-66684823734532979682011-10-25T15:58:00.000-05:002011-10-25T15:58:27.916-05:00Pumpkin Spice Brown Sugar Scrub<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3mKxnbm1bKG29nAdoVbstyYUCh1rE-Qzjqed3TWMLrbUk2UNOsNN-bpEdDyaskpegwcpir6E_zyl0SmRYmPh20RQPHw8OTTbYfzTO4LP_ohRSGpJbWTiWOaQrYy6pLPm-eyFj9OG4_Rw/s1600/img_0182.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240px" rba="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3mKxnbm1bKG29nAdoVbstyYUCh1rE-Qzjqed3TWMLrbUk2UNOsNN-bpEdDyaskpegwcpir6E_zyl0SmRYmPh20RQPHw8OTTbYfzTO4LP_ohRSGpJbWTiWOaQrYy6pLPm-eyFj9OG4_Rw/s320/img_0182.jpg" width="320px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Nothing says Fall like Pumpkin Spice and Brown Sugar. After I took the pictures I edited them and added text. I printed them out on our printer and then laminated them. It's the first step. I'm trying to decide what I want to do next. I am still short the "say your prayer" pic but, will have that soon. He will be 3 next month! My mom came down and it was perfect out for family pics. After and hour and a half I still have no family picture. At first I cried. Now, I'm just laughing because who really can get a 3 year old to take a perfect pic? I would love to hear if you've had a similar experience. Please don't tell me I'm totally alone in this. So, here's a lil taste of our pics.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

It has been sitting on top of the Entertainment Center since that day and never changed. That was 7+ years ago. I was itching for a change but didn't want to buy a new clock. This one is special to me. So, I decided to give it a facelift.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFZQw0UHJ3Gm9DQSuIpU2ZMgpDrcNHK_qyndWeEKHGUHBzUliU5pogv31TMSnI02ofO1k2DAL-re9kvKVBvacAU4wI51khJhuAzpqjI-xxZh-cHsqm_BJFD4orYjbhkS1g6dbPrA-ie-k/s1600/img_0186.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hca="true" height="400px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFZQw0UHJ3Gm9DQSuIpU2ZMgpDrcNHK_qyndWeEKHGUHBzUliU5pogv31TMSnI02ofO1k2DAL-re9kvKVBvacAU4wI51khJhuAzpqjI-xxZh-cHsqm_BJFD4orYjbhkS1g6dbPrA-ie-k/s400/img_0186.jpg" width="300px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Before</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9QRUjvfOiz7tTH8VjjdA5YMtLvyydn-8aJGrwGY0lj1DhyxFRZ63Gd8j7I5ths_tSt5Kr-l-7ctXmLTeyb_r8L8mb0CASp3gpsSxlIDy5rMVVnvd4uv42PlAuiq52X8i7jkTKklmpzSw/s1600/img_0187.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hca="true" height="400px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9QRUjvfOiz7tTH8VjjdA5YMtLvyydn-8aJGrwGY0lj1DhyxFRZ63Gd8j7I5ths_tSt5Kr-l-7ctXmLTeyb_r8L8mb0CASp3gpsSxlIDy5rMVVnvd4uv42PlAuiq52X8i7jkTKklmpzSw/s400/img_0187.jpg" width="300px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This was the simplest, cheapest project ever! I found a piece of scrapbook paper that I liked and used mod podge to glue it over the existing blue mat. I used the same scrapbook paper to wrap the candle in the Apothecary Jar to tie it together. I then printed out the saying "Families are Forever" from my computer and it's held in with scotch tape. I can change out the quote at any time. It took about 10 minutes total and cost less than $1. I love making something totally new out of something I already own. It's better than shopping!</div>Tabithahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02663027758446059124noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8615455940955784327.post-24654620048086850132011-09-22T20:35:00.000-05:002011-09-22T20:35:43.879-05:00My First Furniture Makeover!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">One of my favorite sites to follow is <a href="http://www.infarrantlycreative.net/">http://www.infarrantlycreative.net/</a>. She does some amazing things with a can of spray paint and someone else's trash. She calls these roadkill rescues. I'm a fan of Craigslist and I happened across this entertainment center listed for FREE! Free is always better. She looked a little dirty and worn but, with a little paint and some new hardware I knew she could be a real looker.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi40Ciq1ZeQsG3YGLTIwA7vUqnRPLMo07ddh0EGHyjPMsYl2z_YeI-DWVElePjwxykV6u_yGfBST7vVlyF1WlI4pTObuH-mmc6fMpMlqF-SkQtgpXINY4dA_OpRyI5P6CbazPCKm5XvBWY/s1600/100_3407.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hca="true" height="300px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi40Ciq1ZeQsG3YGLTIwA7vUqnRPLMo07ddh0EGHyjPMsYl2z_YeI-DWVElePjwxykV6u_yGfBST7vVlyF1WlI4pTObuH-mmc6fMpMlqF-SkQtgpXINY4dA_OpRyI5P6CbazPCKm5XvBWY/s400/100_3407.jpg" width="400px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here's a Before shot. I fell in love with all of the storage space. It is way bigger than the entertainment center we had before. It's missing the glass door in this picture. Josh had to reglue the frame back together.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirCuMrjcQcFAHnPmXBjLvbgsTKMpo1aNPdvv6OIVN6ppm__VjNUzWZsMZ8XOgXM2WmR5KCmFaCmI6sj6iXfXWiSFcie_SREo6IY5aSysNRtl_vqqdueWvkXqe_V2DV72HyyWrxuhBFUqs/s1600/100_3406.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hca="true" height="400px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirCuMrjcQcFAHnPmXBjLvbgsTKMpo1aNPdvv6OIVN6ppm__VjNUzWZsMZ8XOgXM2WmR5KCmFaCmI6sj6iXfXWiSFcie_SREo6IY5aSysNRtl_vqqdueWvkXqe_V2DV72HyyWrxuhBFUqs/s400/100_3406.jpg" width="300px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This is one of my favorite features about this entertainment center. One side is for DVDs and the other CDs. We have put all of Lil Man's DVDs in there. It is perfect!</div><br />

I gave her a couple coats of primer for laminate and a few coats of black paint. I added brushed nickel knobs for an update. I liked all of the shelf space but, I didn't like that you could see everything in there. I don't like clutter and it was very distracting. So, thanks again to Infarrantly Creative I came up with this;</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwqed8A7M0mXIBddyilvW6Yk39G43_8rzaDTzkQ2dJAs_EiInv81OwHN3deY86yi29rc-ee7tJP263RQiJQyVYvq7jJFLWe0XzpRgMapHB1k-qWc0-Nn6kcbyWuDg9ozQhhTwS6tQhP-k/s1600/img_0185.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hca="true" height="240px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwqed8A7M0mXIBddyilvW6Yk39G43_8rzaDTzkQ2dJAs_EiInv81OwHN3deY86yi29rc-ee7tJP263RQiJQyVYvq7jJFLWe0XzpRgMapHB1k-qWc0-Nn6kcbyWuDg9ozQhhTwS6tQhP-k/s320/img_0185.jpg" width="320px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I bought some coordinating fabric and pinned it up with flat head tacks. So much better. It's amazing what one piece of fabric can do to the whole piece. I also used the fabric trick on a glass cabinet in my bathroom. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I'm not going to lie this took a lot of work and I wanted to give up halfway through but, with a lot of encouragement from my husband it is now sitting in my living room and I love it!</div>Tabithahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02663027758446059124noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8615455940955784327.post-3507639500598588782011-09-20T20:14:00.000-05:002011-09-20T20:14:40.364-05:00Baby Shower Decor/Ideas<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Saturday, my friend, Mika and I threw a shower for our very good friend, Tiffany who is expecting a little boy. For me that means adding a t-shirt or camisole under it. I don't know about you but I hate the extra bulk and warmth it provides especially in the summer. So, I got out some scrap knit and whipped up one of these little babies;</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiv9rZk4jJ49OZCswsLnfWOPV6BgGUFZKOqa5baGUJmG0RvFnkVo4FB__5C2hb8ebpvSX-8Np4dyMV6ENJKgpuDQK9Q9b6b0wJuqTfejK0E0__QQ6nT6mS0WN_tXY4viXC-KWYxPI2DNk/s1600/img_0278.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240px" rba="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiv9rZk4jJ49OZCswsLnfWOPV6BgGUFZKOqa5baGUJmG0RvFnkVo4FB__5C2hb8ebpvSX-8Np4dyMV6ENJKgpuDQK9Q9b6b0wJuqTfejK0E0__QQ6nT6mS0WN_tXY4viXC-KWYxPI2DNk/s320/img_0278.jpg" width="320px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Supplies needed;</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">2 snaps</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">any color of knit and matching ribbon</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">sewing machine</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">As far as skill level involved it is very basic. Measure the distance between your bra straps while wearing your bra. Then, measure to the base of your bra. Knit stretches so you can cut the knit a little smaller so it fits more snug between your straps. I hemmed the top and zigzagged stitched. Then, I attached the ribbon to both sides. Make sure to heat seal the ends of your ribbon with a lighter to prevent fraying. Next, attach your snaps making sure there is enough ribbon to wrap around your bra strap. That's it! You are done.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFW7rVEwKyGOENOvnRgGjKFupWwAmb0rAX5cCkLX0bB_a8KXn5qk7HgBZ-mcoXpbwQAH_42Q75PUerFcwHZ_MKa9xpaHjokWNMZNNICwZX2r8DKopNFT25ff4gouYtJk6MaBnOjO1aNrc/s1600/img_0275.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320px" rba="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFW7rVEwKyGOENOvnRgGjKFupWwAmb0rAX5cCkLX0bB_a8KXn5qk7HgBZ-mcoXpbwQAH_42Q75PUerFcwHZ_MKa9xpaHjokWNMZNNICwZX2r8DKopNFT25ff4gouYtJk6MaBnOjO1aNrc/s320/img_0275.jpg" width="213px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So much better and no extra bulk! It is very comfortable and you don't even know you are wearing it. No more bending over and worrying about everyone seeing down your shirt. These would be great for moms who are nursing too. Now I'm going to make a bunch of these in different colors. You can also add lace to the top too. It is very basic so it's easy to personalize. Hope you find this one helpful.</div>Tabithahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02663027758446059124noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8615455940955784327.post-85680703729050672992011-09-18T21:02:00.000-05:002011-09-18T21:02:13.955-05:00Goodwill ROCKS!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I am not ashamed of thrift stores or garage sales. It is one of the best ways to save money. Lil Man and I got to spend the day with my Dad last week and we hit up the local Goodwill. We had a great time! Well, lil man sure did. He made out like a bandit.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid5NDyv3NGfMdhIInL8Hr3Go9_ST-CHXiwntGYhtatzrs9_s3ECDSDylTHK9Fm-W7daC4zUouW6Mka1QkSirWkxYBt4F4FdQ3ASowx3jHFFWI7o70XuJtbDn09ioq919QUFZGHlATM9sk/s1600/img_0269.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320px" rba="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid5NDyv3NGfMdhIInL8Hr3Go9_ST-CHXiwntGYhtatzrs9_s3ECDSDylTHK9Fm-W7daC4zUouW6Mka1QkSirWkxYBt4F4FdQ3ASowx3jHFFWI7o70XuJtbDn09ioq919QUFZGHlATM9sk/s320/img_0269.jpg" width="240px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">He got a Radio Flyer fold up tricycle in great condition for $5. I've seen these at the store for like $40. He is absolutely thrilled with his new wheels!</div><br />

Now he has his own spot in the garage to work in with Daddy!</div>Last, I found him the most adorable Halloween costume. I was originally going to make his costume but, he really like the one we found and so did I. I will post pics of it later.<br />

So, hit up your local thrift shop and see what great things you can find!Tabithahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02663027758446059124noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8615455940955784327.post-53928608964506418592011-09-18T20:52:00.000-05:002011-09-18T20:52:48.932-05:00Homemade Apothecary Jar<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I love Apothecary Jars but, I am not willing to pay the price for them. I happened across the site <a href="http://www.dollarstorecrafts.com/">http://www.dollarstorecrafts.com/</a> and found <a href="http://dollarstorecrafts.com/2010/11/make-a-large-apothecary-jar/">this</a> simple tutorial. I spent about $10 total. I couldn't think of what to put into it so, it's been sitting naked on top of the entertainment center until the other day.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEjh2IrEA4axUuN46g0LXscgd22hEpqDvA6WWHJvQhMeeLLLaXHdIa5-EeRCWbUt8tfm_Md28TIdffJSgq0o8AJUALl0fy9zKLPi2IAI9xlUua1-vI9PFGIcwyrDoqizz60ikgOIY5JZk/s1600/img_0266.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320px" rba="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEjh2IrEA4axUuN46g0LXscgd22hEpqDvA6WWHJvQhMeeLLLaXHdIa5-EeRCWbUt8tfm_Md28TIdffJSgq0o8AJUALl0fy9zKLPi2IAI9xlUua1-vI9PFGIcwyrDoqizz60ikgOIY5JZk/s320/img_0266.jpg" width="240px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I bought a bag of river rock and a tall glass candle from Dollar Tree. Then, I wrapped scrapbook paper around the candle and tied it up with rafia. The paper is removable so I can change it out. I attached it with scotch tape. Last, I LOVE the beaded vines. They are literally all over my house so of course I added one around the base.</div><br />

I think I might monogram it too. I do not buy deodorant from the store. I make my own natural deodorant out of items from my baking cabinet. I had seen this on sooo many blogs and decided to try it out myself. I am one who is willing to try almost everything at least once and if it doesn't work I do not continue to use it. I already had all of the ingredients on hand so I truly had nothing to lose.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoqwTJJhyphenhyphen9j-a7ptT2B84yDTK_5iVtEN7qxNaRM_Yx9PJNYZKPxBOAF2g21TTdufpDPusK95WhtXFZ6WUWM6Z9DNAyzK6_LAMzXPav-ynwOCjPtsinJak4tchufa1-FdiFuE9eG6AycJs/s1600/img_0250.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240px" rba="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoqwTJJhyphenhyphen9j-a7ptT2B84yDTK_5iVtEN7qxNaRM_Yx9PJNYZKPxBOAF2g21TTdufpDPusK95WhtXFZ6WUWM6Z9DNAyzK6_LAMzXPav-ynwOCjPtsinJak4tchufa1-FdiFuE9eG6AycJs/s320/img_0250.jpg" width="320px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Ingredients needed;</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">4-6 Tbsp of Coconut Oil</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1/4 cup Baking Soda</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1/4 cup Cornstarch</div><br />

Store in the fridge to make it hard like stick deodorant. If you leave it at room temp it will remain a paste. Apply like you would regular deodorant. What I noticed with this deodorant when you sweat that there is no odor. When you wear regular deodorant and sweat the smell of the deodorant mixed with BO gets stronger. This is not the case with the natural deodorant. It is AWESOME! Plus there are no harmful chemicals in it. It also takes less than 5 minutes to make. It is totally worth my time and money to make this. I've converted some of my family members and they love it. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This recipe came from <a href="http://www.kitchenstewardship.com/2009/08/27/effective-homemade-deodorant-my-baby-steps-story/">Kitchen Stewardship</a>. She also goes into more detail on why this is so much better for you. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Try it. I usually just cut out the coupons that I know we will use and then give away the rest. They suggest keeping them all. Their logic is yes, you may not use that item but if you can get it for free or as a monyemaker by getting Register Rewards or Extra Care Bucks then, you can donate that item and use the store credit on something your family really needs. I hadn't really thought of it that way. So, now I'm trying the whole save the inserts in page protectors in the binder route. To keep track of what coupons are in the inserts I've created a spreadsheet. I am such a paper organizing nerd and I don't care who knows it! So to reduce the workload for you all I'm sharing this weeks coupon insert organizing sheet from the Newsgazette. Let me explain the spreadsheet a little bit. The first column is Qty for quantity. Here you put the number of copies you have of that specific coupon. Next, is item and I think it's pretty self-explanatory. Third is the value of the coupon. The next Qty is for how many of that product you must purchase in order to use that coupon. Last, but not least is the expiration date for the coupon.
