Preschooler Picture Chore/Daily To Do List

Lil man is in a helping/do it myself stage. So, I decided to make him a chore chart. Since he can't read yet I wanted pictures. I looked all over the internet and couldn't find what I wanted. So, I got out my camera and took pictures of his world to make it more personal for him.

After I took the pictures I edited them and added text. I printed them out on our printer and then laminated them. It's the first step. I'm trying to decide what I want to do next. I am still short the "say your prayer" pic but, will have that soon. I would love to hear any suggestions.

  1. That's cute! I just did new job charts for us, too. I just have a blank piece of computer paper on the fridge...one that says each of the kids names on it. Then all the job "pictures" are magnetic (I just glued old magnets from the phonebook, etc to the back of each picture) so when a job needs to be done, the picture is on the "job" paper. My pictures are just from online...a picture of a laundry basket, toothbrush, dishwasher, dust pile, etc... Then when the job is done, or it's a day that certain jobs don't need to be done, we put the pictures on the side of the fridge. When the kids see a job on their paper they know it needs to be done...and they love to have a blank paper, meaning they have done all their jobs for the day. They also love moving the pictures to the side when the job is completed. I came up with it quick one day & some of the pictures are getting worn out. I need to laminate mine to keep them nice. But does that make sense? Maybe I'll take a pic & post it for you. Good luck! Kids love to be "in charge" & feel like they are in control so this has worked great for us.

  2. That's a really great idea! It will pay big dividends in the future, I promise. I wish I'd have been more diligent like that when my kids were little.
